Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Furigator handles your information when you use our Japanese language learning application.

How Translation Works

Furigator uses Apple's built-in Translation framework to provide translations. Apple's Translation framework performs all translation directly on your device, not on Furigator's servers or any third-party service we control. The first time you translate to or from a given language, Apple's system may prompt you to download a language pack to your device; once downloaded, translation for that language pair happens fully offline. Furigator does not send your text to its own servers, and we do not have access to any text you translate.

Analytics & Improvements

Furigator does not collect usage statistics, diagnostic data, or analytics. We do not track how you use the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Furigator does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to us or to third parties:

• Japanese text you input or process
• Translation requests or language preferences
• User activity within the app
• Device identifiers
• Performance metrics
• Error or crash reports

Translation Framework

Because translation is powered by Apple's Translation framework, Apple's own privacy practices govern how on-device language packs are downloaded and updated. We encourage you to review Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple's system frameworks operate. Furigator itself does not receive or view your text at any point in this process.

Data Storage

Any data generated by Furigator — furigana readings, translation history, saved favorites — is stored locally on your device. Your history and favorites also sync securely across your Apple devices using your personal iCloud account. We never see or store your data.

Data Security

Since all data remains on your device, its security depends on your device's own security settings. We recommend keeping your OS and apps up to date.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected in the app with an updated version date.
